A town with an illustrious past. It originally grew up around the Royal Naval Dockyard and produced 260 fine ships including several royal yachts and men-of-war. The Second World War saw Pembroke Dock become a famous Sunderland Flying Boat base which eventually closed in 1957. Nowadays the town is known as an Irish Sea Ferry port with daily sailings to Rosslare and the harbourside offers excellent boating and watersport facilities.
The Martello Gun Tower Heritage Centre is well worth popping into.
