Born 1893 - Kew Park, Jamaica. Died 1992 - British pioneer in maternal and child health.
Qualified as doctor at King’s College Hospital (1923). Main concern was mother and child care. Survived imprisonment by the Japanese during WWII. Became first head of Mother and Child Health in the World Health Organisation.
