When she married Bernard Ashley in 1949 they started up a business manufacturing furnishing materials and wallpaper. She later designed and made clothes which in turn transformed the one small shop into an international chain selling clothes, furnishing fabrics and wallpapers. Her style is the epitome of romance, using natural fabrics, and floral prints.
