He made his first stage appearance at 14, and made his first London appearance in 1925 as a dancer in The London Revue. He appeared in variety, revue, pantomime and radio, and is best remembered for his strangely attired, ludicrously strutting Professor Wallofski. Television appearances included Born and Bred, Crossroads and Coronation Street.
