Born 1922. Died 1996 - English comedy performer.


After wartime service in the RAF, he worked at the Windmill Theatre (1946), and in the show Starlight Roof (1947). One of the early members of the Goons (1951-52), he left the popular radio show to make the animated children’s series The Bumblies (1954). He then appeared in After Hours (1959-60), It’s a Square World (1960-64), and All Square (1966-67). He also co-wrote and appeared in the films Sandwich Man (1966) and Bachelor of Arts (1969).
