Studied in Nottingham and Royal Academy of Music. Became leading violinist in Queen’s Hall Orchestra under Sir Henry Wood in 1912. Best know compositions include London Suite (1933), Four Centuries (1941) and The Three Elizabeths (1944).

I have just been reading your page on Eric Coates, and was amazed to find that Hucknall was in Northamptonshire.I can assure you that Eric Coates was indeed from Hucknall NOTTINGHAMSHIRE.Trust you will make the ammendment to the article
