Born 1925 - Jamshedpur, India. Died 1995 - English writer and naturalist.


Family moved to Corfu in 1930s where his interest in zoology began. Wrote best selling memoir My Family and Other Animals in 1956. Made many expeditions and wildlife films. Founded Jersey Zoological Park in 1959, Jersey Wildlife Preservation Trust in 1963. Discovered the aye-aye, a lemur thought to be extinct.
