Born 1864. Died 1930 - English electrical engineer and inventor.
Innovator in the development of electrical engineering. Patented the Ferranti dynamo at the age of 16. Formulated idea of large-scale generation and distribution of electricity. Appointed chief electrician to London Electric Supply Corporation in 1887. Founded the firm Ferranti Ltd in 1905.
