Completed BA in Drama in 1979. First film appearance was in Remembrance (1982) followed by the lead role in Sid and Nancy (1986). Other films include Prick Up Your Ears (1987), Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), The Fifth Element (1997) and appears as Sirius Black in the Harry Potter films. In 1997 he directed, produced and wrote Nil by Mouth, winning a BAFTA award.
