Born 1876. Died 1941 - Locomotive engineer.

Designed many classic trains including the Silver Jubilee and the Coronation in the 1930s. His A4 class Pacific 4-6-2 Mallard reached a world record speed for a steam locomotive of 126 mph in July 1938.
