One of the most successful disabled athletes in the UK. Has gold medals in the Paralympics in a wide range of events including the 100 m, 200 m, 400 m and 800 m. Won the London Marathon six times between 1997 and 2002. Has held numerous British and world records. Received the MBE in 1993 and the OBE in 2000.
