Worked as railway job as a fireman on locomotives, a gravedigger, an apprentice at General Electric Company before becoming a disc jockey and then forming his own company Pete Waterman Limited. Has had over 20 UK number one singles with various acts. Is a railway enthusiast and a support of Walsall Football Club. Has appeared as a judge on Pop Idol. Awarded an OBE for his services to music.
