Died on 29th of November 1857

Born 1795. Died 1857 - English soldier.

Entered the army and was sent to India in 1823. Distinguished himself in the Afghan Sikh Wars. Took part in the Indian Mutiny (1857-58) when he defeated the rebels at Fatehpur and recaptured Cawnpore. Besieged by a second group of rebels they were rescued by Colin Campbell; Havelock died four days later of dysentery.
