BOOK DERBY HOTELS

Geoff Hoon
- Favourite Briton.

Born in Derby, Derbyshire
Born on 6th of December 1953
Died in 000

Geoff Hoon read law at Jesus College, Cambridge, then became an academic lawyer (Leeds and Louisville) and a barrister in Nottingham. He served several years as an MEP before election to the Commons in 1992 as MP for Ashfield. Hoon held several ministerial posts, notably Secretary of State for Defence, Minster for Europe, and Leader of the Commons. When an apparent planned coup against PM Gordon Brown failed, his political career went into rapid decline, and to all intents ended when revelations about what was seen as potential influence peddling led to a five-year ban from Parliament in 2010.
