After his education at Christ Church Oxford Trevor Huddleston entered the Community of the Resurrection, an Anglican monastic order, for which he then worked in South Africa from 1943 to 1956. A passionate and effective anti-apartheid campaigner, Huddleston continued his work for that cause during a career that also saw him serve as Bishop of Stepney and Archbishop of the Indian Ocean. His book Naught for your Comfort expressed his views on the idea of true universal brotherhood as it should apply within Christianity.
