Born 1512. Died 1542 - King of Scotland.

Son of King James IV. Was an infant when he father died and he was crowned king at Stirling Castle in 1513. Imprisoned by his stepfather before escaping and taking control of government himself. War broke out with England and James’s army was defeated at Solway Moss in 1542. He retreated to Falkland Palace where he died a few days after the birth of his daughter Mary.
