James Meade

James Meade worked for the League of Nations after undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and then teaching duties, at Oxford and Cambridge. During WWII he joined then directed the economic section of the cabinet office, then went on to professorships at the LSE and Cambridge. In 1977 he was the joint winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics. His greatest areas of expertise were in international trade, and modelling economic growth.
