Born 1930. Died 1991 - English sports commentator and broadcaster.

Educated at Leicester University. Became a teacher coaching athletics in his spare time. Appointed national coach to Wales and southwest England in 1961. Team coach at 1964 Olympics and 1996 Commonwealth Games. Began commentating for the BBC in 1968 covering a range of sports including athletics, skiing and gymnastics.

Started on David Vine which lead to David Coleman and Eddie Waring.Remembered Ron's commentaries, cant believe its so long ago. He is/was my youth. Regards to his family. Good times!
