Born 1903. Died 1969 - English physicist and Nobel Prize winner.
Educated at Cambridge. Awarded Nobel Prize for physics in 1950 for his work on the development of nuclear emulsions and the discovery of the charged pion. Part of the movement to make scientists aware of their social responsibilities.
