Ian Rankin
Born on 28th of April 1960
Born 1960 - Scottish author.
Educated at Edinburgh University. First book was The Flood (1986). Established his reputation with the character Inspector Rebus in books such as Mortal Causes (1994) and Set in Darkness (2000). Won the Crime Writers Association Gold Dagger award for Black and Blue (1997).
