Real name is Harry Rodger Webb. Began professional career playing with the Dick Teague Group. Formed own band The Shadows in 1958, success with Living Doll (1959). Made series of musical films including The Young Ones (1961) and Summer Holiday (1962). Knighted for services to pop music in 1995.
