Born 1924 - English philosopher and educationist.
Studied at Oxford. Fellow in philosophy at St Hugh’s College. Involved with committees of enquiry into various issues including special education, environmental pollution, animal experimentation and human fertilization. Awarded a life peerage in 1985.
