Do you dare to dangle for Macmillan cancer support ? Be a dare devil, jump on the adrenaline ride and support Macmillan Cancer
Support by taking part in the Suffolk Abseil at Ipswich Hospital on Saturday
12th July 2008.
Strap yourself in and let the wind rush through your hair as you take in the
wonderful views of Ipswich. This is an exhilarating and spine tingling
challenge that will put you on the edge of your seat as you descend
approximately 150ft down the side of the Maternity Unit at the Ipswich
Hospital.
The Suffolk Abseil is open to people of all ages and fitness levels. Either
register as a daring individual or rope in a team and take the plunge
together. (Parental consent is required for those aged 16 or under).
Mark Fox Community Fundraiser for Suffolk said ŒIt promises to be great day
and we are encouraging everyone to take part as this is a once in a lifetime
experience. All participants will feel a real sense of achievement once
they have conquered their fears and taken the plunge. We feel this is a
challenge that many people really want to do.
Each year 3,500 people in Suffolk are told they have cancer. Advances in
diagnosis and treatments also mean more people are living with cancer for
longer. This is increasing the Pressure on Macmillan Services and the need
for your support. With you alongside us supporting our work, Macmillan can
give more people living with cancer the support they need.
The Suffolk Abseil aims to raise upwards of £5000 to help fund a whole range
of cancer services in Suffolk that make a huge difference to the lives of
local cancer patients.
