for Castle Bytham Midsummer Fair as your favourite British event.

Our normally peaceful streets are packed with stalls selling everything from crafts and collectibles to bedding plants and bric-a-brac, while the fair field hosts funfair rides, traditional games for the kids, a chance to try your hand at rustic carpentry and live music.

One of the highlights of the day is the Duck Grand Prix - while our canine friends also battle it out for trophies in the fun dog show. This year there will be an exciting display by the Red Barrows… just like the real thing, only with three wheels… and there’s a fancy dress competition for the children. We’re also hoping for a good turnout of classic motorbikes and cars.

There are beer festivals at our two fabulous pubs - The Castle and the Fox and Hounds – and local produce features in the excellent Castle Bytham Stores. Additionally there’s a barbecue and hog roast on the field and delicious home-made treats in the village hall, including bacon butties for the early birds.

The event is organised by volunteers from Castle Bytham and since 1998 it has raised more than £30,000 for local projects and charities.

Castle Bytham is just three miles off the A1, midway between Stamford and Grantham. For more information visit www.midsummerfair.co.uk or get in touch via email.
