Northamptonshire Reports
Review of Titchmarsh by Keith Dart on October 1st, 2010
I and my pals on landing at RAF Bentwaters in 1944 asked where the nearest pub was and was told
Titchmarsh,we borrowed bikes and cycled into the
village and went to the pub but i can't remember
tha name.We were made very welcome and played your type of skittles with some land army girls. it was the best beer we had tasted for a long time. The next day we cycled in and was stopped
by a policeman and charged with riding without
lights and was fined 10 bob at Thrapston court,ht
we still went the next night but left our bikes a
little way out,great memories.
