St Merryn, Cornwall

Review of St Merryn by elaine mclellan on August 18th, 2006
I visited st merryn this july(2006)and want to thank all the st merryn people who were so good to us.We came down for a week from glasgow. My 4 children and I were really looking forward to our holiday as i'd been to cornwall 20 years ago and thought i'd landed in heaven, it is so beautiful.unknowingly we'd booked a caravan that wasn't meant to be let to the general public the guy was trying to con the site owners by letting it and collecting loads of money. The actual caravan was so dirty a pig couldn't have lived in it,we couldn't even eat in it as we'd have caught food poisoning. We were really upset and very hungry with no chance of eating. Then the great people of st merryn stepped in and helped us. We'd like to say a big thank you to some people ,sorry I don't know who they are but they'll know.THANK YOU, to the shop owner/manager at maribou holiday park for making the children something to eat and cheering us up (his Dad was scottish and in the Navy),the bar manager (originallyfrom Inverness)and the local chinese delivery guy who gave us a lift and made sure we got up the road safely, the lady at st merryn stores who very kindly let us watch dvd's at the caravan to give the children something to do at night,a nice family from wolverhampton? who made us cups of tea,THANK YOU TO ALL YOU GOOD PEOPLE.st merryn is a lovely place beautiful beaches nearby, nice and peaceful.I would recommend this place any day and if you receive the kind of cornish welcome which was given to us,then you'll have a holiday to remember' thanks again st merryn.
