Review of Aberfeldy by tom mcgrath on August 11th, 2007
Having lived in Aberfeldy for 20yrs until 1959 I have come across references to the distillery always as Dewars. I can definitely remember the sign on the railway wall as CRAWFORDS ,and being presented with a bottle of CRAWFORDS FOUR STAR on my 21st birthday.I remember the old railway station and catching the milk train from Ballinluig on my first leave after square bashing, having travelled from Wilmslow via Crewe to catch the Highland express and waiting in Ballinluig at 4.30 am.My last time in Feldy was 1996 and I was amazed at all the changes and how much the place has grown.I hope to be able to visit again in the near future.

We had a glorious time in perthshire and in particular in and around Aberfeldy. The town is very quaint and very scottish (not that we were expecting something Japanese looking up here) with a delightful village square and masses of wonderful countryside all around. The people were super friendly, the evenings light and long (it seemed to get truly dark only at midnight) and there was not a midge in sight. Well well worth a visit wherever you are from. The air is CLEAN!
