Borders Reports

Jedburgh, Borders

Review of Jedburgh by Jane Cumberland on October 10th, 2007
We stayed in a cottage in Jedburgh in May for 4 nights as a quiet getaway, and fell in love with the place. We're heading back for Christmas. The small town centre has a real community feel, the food was excellent, fresh salmon from the Tweed, washed down with a glass of local ale, great butcher, green-grocer, local pubs etc. We covered a few of the walks along Jed Water, and took the short drive to Floors Castle, Kelso for the races, and Melrose. You can feel the history of Jedburgh as the old buildings have been preserved, along with Mary Queen of Scots House and the Abbey & Jail. It was very relaxing.
