Greater Manchester Reports
Review of Cheadle by Bernard Carroll on January 8th, 2010
Had the good fortune to spend a Month in Cheadle and in a nutshell found it an ideal location to access anywhere in the UK.
The number 11 bus passed by the front door and this took us to Stockport bus terminal which fed us to every other part of Manchester, Lancashire and if needed to the railway station and any where in the UK.In fact to anywhere in the world.
We were able to travel on bus passes by bus and dispense with the worry and expense of car travel.
The self catering accomadation was superb and the shopping in the High St left nothing to be desired. Of particular note was the "SHOP" worth its weight in gold. Also of great fame was the pub Lunches, there were lots of variety and of reasonable price.
The local library also played its part making available its very efficient internet to the lonely traveller. Worthy of mention was the very efficient Chiropadist who squeezed me in and gave me the ability to be able to walk around the old haunts of my childhood in the forties in and around Ancoats, Ardwick Ramsbottom and Bury which has the best fish and chips in the world.
I could go on but will take this oppurtunity to thank the people of Cheadle who helped make my visit something to remember.
