Jersey Reports

St Helier, Jersey

Review of St Helier by P Hayward on April 19th, 2007
Visited Jersey for weekend breaks. Easy and quick to get to. 2-3 nights is long enough, as the island is so small. Its clean, relaxing and laid back. There are some great restaurants, and shopping is tax free. I will continue to return.

Review of St Helier by simone on February 12th, 2007
St Helier in Jersey Channel islands is a great place for shopping, where you can buy many a bargains or fine gifts or buy black butter a kind of jam from the lovely victorian market hall. St Helier is very very busy in Late Spring and Summertime and has unfortunately got a lot of building work going on, spoiling the skyline and Jersey. There are many French, Polish Portugese workers here and English too and St Helier has many eating places to suit all and numerous hotels but is one of my least favourite parishes. There is a many things to do and visit here with lovely parks shops and amenities, attractions here and elsewhere in other parishes of Jersey. There are many hotels some good some not so good and unfortunately when we visited here we stayed at Norfolk Hotel in St Helier which was a huge disappointment due to lack of food choice and disappointment with rooms and hotel in general but really enjoyed visiting Merton Hotel a higher graded hotel nearby. The climate in St Helier is much warmer than many parts of England and has lovely beaches which are scattered all over Jersey and St Helier/Jersey is Steeped in history remembering world war 2 with many museums underground military hospital etc
