I've just returned from a visit to the Annandale Arms and would never stay again. Expensive and poor quality. Heating only comes on a certain times of day and the room was freezing. Had an incredibly rude telephone call on my return home accusing me of 'having a man to stay'. Well, for goodness sake, this is the 21st century! True enough I met a friend for dinner and we went to my room for coffee and he duly left at midnight. BUT, they wanted to charge for TWO people staying the night! They have since made a charge against my debit card! Avoid this place like the plague!! Apparently, the receptionist warned the owner that I was 'going to be trouble' on checking in! Charming! If you want a freezing cold room, odd charges, and very rude emails, stay at the Annandale - if you'd rather be treat with respect, go to one of the many other hotels in the town!
