Farleyer offers a country escape with an unusual combination of chintz and cool chic. At the heart is sound hospitality and concerned service – and fine cuisine. On an embroidered cushion in one of the bedrooms it says I’m not difficult to please, I’m perfectly happy with the best... and the best for their customers is clearly what motivates Jake and Kim, the live-in proprietors. A romantic escape – a shooting break – a recuperative rest – a gourmet experience: all can be had here. The latest 2004 edition of Scotland the Best speaks happily of the hotel making a welcome return to the guide, and praises it for being cool and contemporary. The latter guide considers Farleyer one of the best 10 places to eat in Perthshire. Good recommendations. Can’t you just smell the woodsmoke and feel the freshness of the cool pines – and imagine yourself drawing your chair up to a sparkling table with the pleasurable anticipation of a lovely dinner ahead?”
