With a great deal of fun activities, shows, parades and street stalls, you will be spoilt for choice. Each year there is a theme for the festival and for 2008 it is ŒHero‚s and Villains‚! However if you are not interested in the glitzy side, there are many planned walks through the beautiful Devon countryside ranging from 6 to 20 miles which are highly recommended plus the Modbury History Society comes alive at this time of year. At the end of the fortnight is the unmissable Carnival Procession heavily based on the theme, and nearly all the children, teens and children at heart of Modbury dress up in weird, wonderful and wacky costumes and parade down the street on floats, horses and on foot.
