A lovely hotel.I had a nice room overlooking the lake. The shower was rather tired and noted tiles inside the cubicle were blackened on a few tiles so Iwould say bathroom needed a facelift.
Resturant was very good and breakfast good with cheerful and polite staff.
I would certainly visit again.

Good Points: The hotel is beautiful. Ive never stopped in a hotel like this before, always seem to end up staying in more modern establishments. The hotel was built in 1845 apparently, and although it could maybe have done with a lick of paint here and there, it more than made up for this with its character and charm. The hotel gardens are fantastic and the view from the lake from them is absolutely amazing. The location of the hotel is perfect too. Countless bars, restaurants, pubs, shops, ice-cream parlours and of course the lake within very little walking distance. The staff were very helpful and polite and room service arrived in record time! What can i say!? We had a realy great time and will definately be going there again!
Bad Points: Well.... Theres always something isnt there. The view from our room was the car park! It would have been nice to have a lakeside view, but i suppose you have to pay for those. All in all though. This was only a very tiny blimp on an otherwise perfect weekend!
General review: Fantastic!!!!!

Good Points: The Beksfield Hotel is one my wife and I have wanted to stay for several years but never done so, the price was not bad so we gave it a go mainly for the location and the stunning views over the lake
Bad Points: Would have prefered a double bed and the heating to be a bit warmer
General review: Overall we found the accomodation, staff very good
