Reviews of Shakespeare's Globe, Southwark

Kids studying Shakespeare should be given the chance to drink in the atmosphere and enjoy a production at the Globe. It’s a theatrical time machine, instantly enhancing your knowledge of the Bard’s times and his works, and very reasonably priced for London. We saw a brilliantly knockabout Comedy of Errors, all slapstick and business, wonderfully acted by a cast obviously having as much fun as the audience, a world away from reading drily from the text at a school desk – my 12-year-old absolutely loved the place and the performance. An easy stroll from the Millennium Bridge, with a fairly priced Pizza Express with good service next door, the theatre really is a must for families wanting a rewarding night out on trips to the capital.
