We visited Winteringham Fields for the first time yesterday. It was a truly memorable experience in every respect. I enjoyed having a view of the kitchen drama. The attention to detail was admirable and I every delicious mouthful of food was savoured by our party of five. The walnut bread was particularly noteworthy. The staff were friendly and attentive without being obsequious. I particularly appreciated the private drawing room. And given the quality of food and service the restaurant is very reasonably priced. Looking forward to my next visit!

Having been a long time fan of this restaurant I am very sorry to say that in recent times the place has lost what once made it special. The prices being charged have become almost offensive. Way way overpriced. Simply not worth the money, when you look and see what else on offer at such prices.

If Winteringham Fields was in London, it would be booked up months in advance. Thankfully it isn't! Treasure this real treat, and make the journey to enjoy some of the best cooking and service in the UK, and arguably Europe. The North/South divide works in your favour dining here, as there's no complacency or arrogance regarding reputation or quality of cooking. There's a pleasing sense of formality and theatre to the service, without being unbearingly pretentious or coolly aloof. Having recently dined at Manoir Aux' Quat Season, I would have every confidence in rating Winteringham Fields more highly on many counts. Where Manoir is mean-spirited with its amuse bouche and petit fours, and comparatively bland breads and butter, Winteringham Fields really makes the effort to get these luxury basics exactly right. The wine list is much more sensibly balanced at Winteringham Fields, and I found my dessert wine much more sensitively and accurately balanced to my choice of dessert at WF also. As mentioned elsewhere, the pleasure of hearing such an enthusiastic and informed description of the cheese-board is worth the visit alone!

I have never stayed overnight, only eaten here. The service and food are both of the highest quality and an impressive wine list. Nothing is too much trouble and the restaurant fully deserves it ratings in the Good Food Guide (I beleive one of only three to get 9/10 and none got 10)and it's description in a major national newspaper as the best in Britain. Expensive and a little pertentious maybe, but worth every penny for the ultimate dining experience. If one wants to really impress someone or make a really special occasion, then is THE place to go.

This was our second time at Wintringhamfields. The food is absoultely exceptional, the finest food one could imagine and the service is the highest possible. Every little detail is thought of. The rooms are magnificant. What I love the most about coming here is that I am made to feel very welcomed by each member of staff. A visit to Wintringham Fields is an unforgetable experience.
