What an amazing treat!!
I booked this for my partner and if you go directly to JSW website there is an offer for a tasting menu for two plus a room at £175 (or £200 fri/sat night).
I habve always been dubious about tasting menus as my partner is vegetarian, as well as being a fussy one at that, plus allergic to mushrooms. I myself will eat anything.
The food was to die for and my partner was accomodated for really well and they changed some of the set menu dishes to cater for her needs. The wine train that accompanied the meal was equally excellent and both complemented eachother really well. Neither of us like Dessert wine but the one offered was amazing. The service was excellent and I couldn't fault a thing with the meal.
My partner said it was the best meal she had ever had.. and I agreed.
I would encourage anybody to take up the offer available on the website as its extremely good value for money.
The only criticism I would have would be with the room. The room itself was beautiful, however with single glazed windows facing the high street it was not the best nights sleep!
All in all - Excellent 10/10

A very expensive and disappointing evening.
Felt hurried and as though we were on a conveyor belt!
We went for the £38 two course meal, rather than the £50 tasting menu.
I chose the foie gras brulee as a starter, which was an extraordinary mix of flavours ...... but not in a great way ....... not sure the sweet and savoury went .......
Next was the venison with beetroot ........ absolutely delicious ...... really gorgeous ...... cooked to perfection, but could have done with being served with a few vegetables as I was left still feeling hungry.
The waitress, although incredibly polite and said all the right things, came across as rather 'programmed' and condescending.
We had coffee with the most delicious little chocolates (home made?), but it came as a ready poured cup and we weren't offered a refill ......... in fact we weren't offered any more drinks either .........
It would have been lovely to have been able to sit chatting over a cafetiere of coffee.
Without saying anything to one another in the restaurant, as we didn't want to spoil the evening, once in the car we agreed that it had all felt rather rushed .........
We were out on the street at 9 pm on a Saturday evening! My partner said it was the worst £100 he had ever spent on a meal out ... such a shame as we had high expectations .....
