I disagree with the previous reviewer.
When you go to a restaurant of a certain calibre, you should not expect to be able to change the menu to your liking. The whole point is that the dishes at The Magpies are carefully constructed so that each part of the meal complements the others.
The food is excellent; and I wouldn't dream of second-guessing the cook when it comes to the different elements in the dishes that are put in front of me.
If you want to make alterations to what you order, then there are any number of other restaurants in the area that would accommodate this.

We went to this restaurant as it is recommended in variou guides. The quality of the fooe was prety good, but unfortunately there is a house attitude of "we know best" and any request for how the diners would like their food cooked are completely ignored and the meal is cooked how the chef thinks it should be. If the chef is paying then he can tell me how my food should be, but when I am paying, I expect it to come how I want it.
