Loved this restaurant! We had been at the Boath House 2 nights before which was lovely but I must say I really enjoyed my meal here. I had 2 starters served for my main course without a single comment from the very friendly waitress. Both delicious. And my OH had steak which he always asks for blue and it came as asked. Not many chefs trust their ingredients to do that! I will certainly return when next back in Nairn.

Surprised to read these poor reviews, I visited the Classroom on 22nd August 2009 and was very impressed by the service and food. Was quite expensive but am happy to pay for quality. Can thoroughly recommend the chicken in bacon.

I found the Classroom to be a delightful little restraunt with lovely, helpful waitresses, great food and amazing desserts. Well worth the price and a delightful visit.
One suggestion - they should put a "please use other door" sign on the locked door - we counted about 10 potential customers trying to get in the locked door (admittedly it did serve as entertainment for us!) Will definately go back.

Every time I go there I swear I will never go back but in the absence of anywhere else to eat.... As always the service was poor and they managed to get my order wrong, so my wife and I ate our main courses at separate times. The food was OK but not worth the cost. No effort was made to recompense us as for a disappointing evening. The owners need to take this place by the scruff of the neck and take control of what goes on in the kitchen and the front of house. It's a great venue and could be a fabulous restaurant. Just get it right!

On a recent visit to the Classroom I was disappointed the menu had changed. On a whole the Classroom now serves substandard food at high prices. Won't be going back.

We visited 'The Classroom' as it appeared the only pleasant eatery in Nairn - having only been able to find Kebab shops and Pizza takeaways along the Nairn High Street! Yes the appearance is lovely but what a disappointment when the food eventually arrived, and the prices for such mediocre fare were ridiculous! - we were the only diners in there and having received our meals it became obvious as to why! They did not have my first choice of wine and having opted for a glass of one of their cheapest reds at £3.95 per glass was disappointed to receive a small glass of most inferior, cheap, 'plonk'. Time, we think, for them to give Gordon Ramsay a call!

I believe that the number of people visiting the classroom for dinner is in a slow decline and on the basis of our recent visit I woyld say badjustifiably. I would suggest the owner and chef take a trip through to the 'Mustard Seed' in Inverness to see how good food served a reasonable price gets the bums on seats. They could use some of the money that they fleeced from me for their mediocre and just plain dull food served on saturday. scallops- laughably served on a huge white liner with some oil drizzled over the top and chive sprinkled, were they cut in half?, no thicker than a 2p piece.. £8 starter, steak (tough) more suitable for a curry £18, even the 'hand cut chips'were undercooked, we gave up before the pudding. I wouldnt mind so much if i didnt keep hearing punters saying that the classroom and the Cawdor Tavern served good food, in my experience of both they serve standard pub food (in meagre portions) at city centre restaurant prices. You can fool some of the people some of the time but you cant fool all of the people all of the time.
