My wife and I had a wonderfull weekend stay at this delightful hotel to celebrate our 31st. wedding anniversery. The accommodation, food and service were first class and there was the added advantage of being able to bring our dog. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys peace and quite, excellent food and a relaxing atmosphere. Thank you to the owners and staff, we hope to revisit soon.

The art of the restaurateur lies in making guests feel welcome from the moment of their arrival to their eventual departure.I took my brother-in-law and his wife to dinner in the hotel and although it was a first time for all of us, we were made to feel like honoured guests throughout the evening, under the supervision of Ms.Elaine Hamill. We quickly had drinks to hand, menus, and delicious hors d'oeuvres to nibble. We chose the four-course set menu and decided on gravalax with pasta, and one of us had the foie gras terrine. Before this was served, our waitress cocked an eyebrow and murmured "Bread?", before producing a lovely selection of home-baked loaves.
We accompanied our meal with glasses of a nice crisp Languedoc white.
Our main courses of roast lamb and duck were served a little pink as promised, and we just had room for some creamy pudding concoctions, followed by excellent coffee and petit fours in the lounge.
The service throughout was discreet, friendly and professional, and as a Londoner, I was charmed by the warmth of the Scottish hospitality shown to us by all concerned. Can one ask for more?
