Friendly staff and clean Hotel. Nice surroundings and close to many attractions/activities, New Forest, Beaulieu, Isle Of Wight. Rooms are on the small size but are well featured with Virgin TV, Spa bath and plentiful tea/coffee supplies. Good ventilation with sash window and excellent garden view. The Restaurant however really lets this hotel down. Very disappointing menu which is low on choice, infrequently changed and of poor quality. It lacks any atmosphere, especially at Breakfast when the silence is deafening - I heard a guest on the next table's stomach rumbling - not for long though as he had cornflakes - I thought the windows were going to cave in. Trout in the evening was fully boned, ie left in, which was unpleasant. Remember to ask for veg or you'll be left with without - Staff are thin on the ground so there is no prompting for drinks etc, if you want it be prepared to stop and ask. Portions are small, except for Breakfast where an excellent selection is available and apart from the awkward silence is a strong point.
Altogether a lovely hotel which needs to survey it's customers in order to fine tune the above - Probably resolved with a good Restaurant Manager.
