I attended a function at the above hotel today and was very disappointed with the service, the meal and the overall experience. The bread was served warm and appeared freshly baked which I thought was good until we waited 10 minutes for the soup. The main course of Roast Beef followed but was of very poor quality plus 3 people at our table were never offered vegetables. There was a number of children in the party who were never offered the choice of the childrens menu although this had been arranged prior to booking so resulted in the children eating very little. The number of half eaten meals uplifted at the end of the meal should have alerted waiting and kitchen staff there was a problem but not so. I will not be returning to this establishment or recommending it due to this experience.

We just spent a winter weekend break at Moffat House Hotel. The hotel and rooms have character and are cosy and clean. The staff are pleasant and very helpful. The full Scottish breakfast was brilliant. There was a cosy fire burning in the lounge to sit near and have a quiet relaxing drink. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing break, this is highly recommended.
