The Guide has known Glenapp Castle for many years and we have followed the story of Fay and Graham’s remarkable and painstaking restoration of the property with admiration. Opened in 2000 under their care the castle is one of Scotland’s very finest establishments – up there with Inverlochy Castle, the Carnegie Club and, really, very few others. About it all, though, is a genuine friendliness and a surprising lack of formality. Guests come from all over the world to appreciate the heritage, luxury and setting. It is remarkably easy to get to – and, once here, guests are ‘out of the world’ and into a protectorate of peacefulness and beauty
