We made the unfortunate mistake of booking into this hotel.
It stank of mildew; the toilet at the front was basically unserviceable, and it stank.
Fortunately for us they could not get the key to work for the room we were given and we departed without staying.
Two friends who live locally, were almost hysterical with laughter when we said we had contemplated staying there, as they said it was a local joke!
You would not put your Mother in Law up there! Having lived "rough"on many occasions in Australia, I can say without fear of contradiction that this was the worst place I had ever contemplated staying. On complaining to the hotel group, I was told that it met all safety and health regulations; surely a bad joke or a stunning indictment on UK health and safety regulations.

Good Points: It was easy to book and a convenient location.
Bad Points: Poor quality of the room.
General review: Room 201 smelled of smoke, I had asked for a non smoking room. Carpet had some holes in and looked very unclean. There was a hole in the bathroom door as if someone had kicked it. The shower was a small space. Water was hot though. You could feel the bedsprings when lying on the bed, which made it very uncomfortable. Floorboards on stairs and other places felt like they were broken /springy/could give way.

Good Points: spring break very good value for money.
Bad Points: food was expensive for what it was.but on the spring break it was included so it was not bad.just like cheap pub food.
General Review: hotel unusual. room lovely and warm shower very powerful. drinks a bit expensive.food was just basic pub food. the bed needs quilts on not prickly blankets.it was nice being on the river weaver. i would go again for a spring break. very good value for money £30 per night bb/d.

The position was really great being on the water
Food choice and cleanliness of the rooms
The position of the hotel being so close to the town centre was ideal for shopping, eating out, and local pubs ad the cinema next door. It's position on the water made for an idyllic weekend.
