We have been to the Sun Haven quite several times and we will definitely come back again.. The staff is friendly and helpful and bathromms were always clean and tidy.. If you are looking for a nice, clean and tranquil place to stay, go to the Sun Haven Valley in Mawgan Porth :)

I have stayed at the site several times and each time there was something new to do or see.It is set in rolling cornish countryside and if you want a peaceful break this is the place. There is no bar or entertainment on site but a short stroll through the woodland paths takes you to the beach,pub or local shops. For those intrepid walkers there's the South West Peninsular Coastal Path and for the foodies, there are local places that do great food and Jamie Oliver or Rick Stein restaurants are quite near.

Picturesque site about 1/2 a mile from the beach in a Valley, site is well maintained with all that you need for a basic camping holiday (trying to persuade my better half to try one of their statics next time,the sneak preview I had made me think I could live in a caravan there, amazing attention to detail and so clean!)
The children had the space to play, and we could relax, the short walk to the beach and seafront pubs were ideal as was the visiting fish and chip cart. Less cooking for me!
The strict, patrolled silence at 10.30pm policy was brilliant, it meant that we weren't all grouchy through lack of sleep! The management were strict but fair and the staff friendly and helpful. The shower facilities were cleaned regularly, and the family bathroom a godsend. We will definitely be holidaying there again.

We go to Sun Haven Valley several times every year and think Jayne King must have had a really bad one-off holiday. We like Sun Haven valley because though it's not an "all-singing-all-dancing" park, it's clean and mainly it's quiet - there's no club no bar, no loud music on the pitches, no litter, no noisy nightime teenagers, no early hours barbeques, etc.etc. etc. The "silence after 10.30" rule is very strict but we sit outside the tent with a glass of wine whilst the children are asleep and it's great - the only thing you can hear is the stream or the sea and the barn owl. Have to say that the toilet block is not modern but it's functional and clean. The lights are on timers which don't seem to change with dark days or bright evenings and the speakers play a local radio station with music plus all the local stuff - news, traffic, local events, etc. The playground's a bit dated but their website shows a new one being built. The wi-fi doesn't get to all the pitches ( especially not to 99, 100 & 101 ) - but does work in the playground and on the main lawns. 20p for a microwave doesn;t seem expensive to us and we've always found the washup, food area, fridge & freezer perfectly clean.

We were camping in August 2009 at this park. Toilet facilities are important to us so when we read in the info "Loo of the Year Awards 2009 - 5 stars" we thought this must be the place for us! How wrong - these toilets are no where near 5 star or any star. They are old and dirty, the lights only come on in the shower and toilet cubicles at certain times and there is constant music playing which is weird. There is a pets area of birds and guinea pigs which is really dirty. The washing up facilities, the paying to use microwave and toaster, the fridge - which yes is convenient to have is really smelly etc etc etc. So disappointing because the grounds looked quite well kept and some of the pitches were quite spacious and certainly flat which is a bonus. Very strict about the curfew of 10.30 - staff/owner drives around in an unlit buggy checking up. You felt a bit like a criminal if you wanted to sit outside after 10.30!!! It just could be so much better which is a pity. I would'nt go back because of the facilities.

We arrived at the camp site and I could not believe it. The pitches were tiny,hardly big enough for anything,the tents and caravans were to close together.The toilets were not too clean,goodness only knows when the bins on the site and in the toilets were enptied last it was all over flowing.One does wonder what they had a 5 star for.Not a place we shall visit again.

I have been to the Sun Valley campsite for the last 3 years but i will most certainly not be returning again. The tranquil settings are not fitting for the somewhat untranquil owner. i recently went on a family camping trip which included a 2 year old child, only to be accused of not checking in before we set up camp. He continued by verbally threating us and calling me a lier and asked all of us to leave, back to our council estate(bearing in mind it was raining, late in the day and we had a small child). I mean who does this man think he is? little did he know we had checked in with his wife, but she was so scared of him she couldn't even stand up to him. i most certainly will not be going back there and if anyone is thinking of it i would strongly ask you to bouycot this pyscho, besides Travelgue (the campsite right next to it) is much cheaper and nicer. i.e. family caravan at travellgue £38 as apposed to £120 at sun valley.
