What a lovely, peaceful little hotel! Ladies on reception were friendly and nothing too much trouble. Bar area was relaxing, my pint of bitter was spot on. Seemed to be a regular crowd of locals drinking there, and had nice craic with them all, thanks for the double whiskey seamus! Only ten minutes or so into Manchester on the bus, and there's even a kfc and several takeaways just a dive minute walk down the road. if I visit north Manchester again will be back, no doubt.

My wife and I needed a hotel close to North Manchester hospital We chose the fairways hotel, room 116 as it seemed to meet our needed. We did not choose this hotel on price as it appeared a fair price for its star rating. Unfortunately the hotel is very tired now and is certainly not what I would have expected from its web site pictures On checking in on Friday, after going to the room I then went back to the reception to ask for another room and that the TV did not work, I was told the hotel had TV issues at the moment and I had a very good room. I could only imagine what the others could be like! So much so that we found the room and bed so poor that I checked out Saturday night, and drove the 300 miles back to southampton.asking the receptionist to only process my bill if she thought it wise to do so. I then phoned the hotel and spoke to Mr. Stephen McLaughlin, after the weekend, to tell him of my stay at his hotel. obvisily he must be use to this type of phone call as he asked me to write a letter in and he would review it, and let me know in only one month’s time as to whether he would know if he had proceed my bill. I informed him that I was going to review his hotel on line as I thought not only did his hotel not inspire me, his attitude did not help and his manor did little to resolve any problem I have not asked him for a refund, I have asked him to think how best to resolve the situation and not waste my or his time by letter writing. Faults No TV. A very worn bed No toilet role holder Mould and grime in the bathroom, rusty metal fixings in room, No sauna working Simple customer care is what is required by this establishment and some re investment

Friendly but overworked staff. Shabby 70's style bathroom. I won't mention breakfast. Noise from the the squash courts. I complained but it made no difference. Never again.

Not a bad hotel on first arriving. Friendly reception, if a little slow, and the ambience is good. Our room was small but comfortable but the bathroom had one small piece of soap for the two of os, ie none in the bath/shower. Whilst our room (6) was comfortable, my daughter and her family, in room 1, had a bed that sank in the middle with she and her husband rolled down into each other. Friends of ours from Sheffield were in another room and endured a hard, lumpy bed accompanied by the thud, thud, thud of the squash courts. There is no key chute in reception and I had to wait 5 minutes whilst the loan receptionist had disappeared for a drink. a huge security risk. We did not eat in the hotel apart from breakfast. The staff here were surly, at times, and overworked. But the food was something else. The grapefruit juice was off as was the fresh fruit salad and cut up fruit, clearly made too soon and left hanging around. The coffee was undrinkable and seemed to be made from jars of instant powder, with the compensation of being too strong as well. I believe it, too, had been hanging around too long. We stuck to Nescafe packets and hot water. This hotel is not recommended.
