I made my first visit to Farrington for almost ten years - what a tranformation. Once looked down upon by members of traditional clubs - but no longer. They have had a new greenkeeper for the past couple of years and he has made such a difference. The course has matured beyond recognition and the holes are all different which I like. The greens still need a bit of time but are not too bad. The lay out is brilliant and it was so busy I had a job to park in the very big car park. It was a fine day...The 17th hole is a nightmare with water on both sides. There is also a nine-hole executive course that is equally as good. I have never seen such large, true greens as on the nine-holer. I'm told that was built first by the owner who went bust. He did a good job.I went on a deal advertised in South West Golfer. I paid £19 for a full round,25 balls on the excellent driving range plus a lovely free lunch. That's real value.
