Good Points: The views from the hotel were spectacular, the gardens were very impressive.
Bad Points: We thought the food left a lot to be desired. The breakfasts were dismal, we could not even cut into the blackpudding it was so dried out. Dinner was slightly better, however for £53, excluding drinks, the portions were a little on the mean side. Bread should have been left on the table, instead we were offered one slice of non descript bread, not good! The only redeeming factor was the magnificent view from the window.
General Review: If the food was improved upon this hotel has the potential to be great. the rooms could do with a revamp, but again the views made up for this. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. I would not visit the hotel again until there was a promise that the chef or swallow hotels had got their act together and delivered what they promised and that is fine dining with locally sourced food. I would recommend this hotel but only if you don't eat the food.
