Best rates for a Local Hotel

Although we'd booked through an agent on the Tursday before, they had no record of our booking. Also the dinner included in the rate was only the main course upto £10. Starters and desserts were extra! Breakfast was also only continental. Rooms were not available when we arrived at 3pm and the whole place was not really conducive to relaxation as it was packed. It seems that too much emphasis is put on the spa side of things, to the detrement of the hotel. Although staff seemed apologetic, they were not very helpful in resolving the situation. We didn't stay in the end.

This hotel has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. All the staff are very helpful and have entertaining personalities. We would strongly recommend that if you decide to take dinner away from the hotel that you come back late enough to meet Keith - the coolest night porter that ever lived!! The facilities were great, the food was gorgeous, and the drinks came in healthy measures!! When we arrived the staff apologised for only having the two smallest rooms available, and by way of an apology we were given a complimentary bottle of champers for each room. Let me say that these rooms were lovely - they were small but they were together in their own small wing of the hotel, which is perfect if, like us, you were with two friends and you can wedge the doors to each room open and it becomes like a small suite - its ace!! Full marks to staff, hotel and all. Many thanks Jules and Emma
