Very disappointing did not live up to expectations. We booked a double room, which was £82.50 for the night including breakfast. This turned out to be in the annexe, not mentioned during booking process. Annex was up an unlit ramp on the other side of the car park from the main building wiht no cover against the weather.
Room itself was very clean, but very pokey - only around 8 foot wide by 10 long. The bed was so tight for space it could only be accessed from one side. The bathroom was also very small, the shower was 2ft square. The only lights were two bedside lamps. It did have a good cupboard for clothes. I looked for another pillow, there was none nor any extra blankets in the cupboard and it took them 45 minutes to find another pillow for me.
We booked in for dinner in the main building. On entering we found a warren of small rooms, no separate restaurant. No one to greet or seat us. We had to seat ourselves and find a waitress to take our order. No plates for bread, had to eat it off the bare wooden table top (no cloths).
The bar and restuarant staff were very helpful but food was basic, small portions and not very interesting.
No wifi connection as promised in literature. Finally when we checked out we were presented with a bill for room plus a single cost written on it in pen, for the evening meal, no itemised costs, no copy of the order nothing. No sign either of the owner or I would have explained some of my concerns to him.
My husband said he felt it was a b and b masquerading as a country inn and £55 would have been a fairer price. He said the dinner was shambolic and the room too small.

Good Points: Friendly staff. Clean room with a lovely view - especially pleased to see The White Horse from the window. The food in the restaurant was very good.
Bad Points: Room was quite small and I was disappointed not to have a bath.
General review: Really enjoyable experience - very relaxing.

Our first impression was of a quaint village inn. We parked and walked to the bar (1615hrs). We were given a key to a room and told to drive up the path to a cottage. On entering the cottage all was dark. We found the lights and after trying the keys with every door finally found our room. Door numbers were very difficult to find. The room was small and 'tired'. Furniture very good but bathroom small. Food in evening was excellant although service friendly it was amateurish. Breakfast in the morning was adequate only. The experience was not good value. We will not stay their again.
